Veronica

This beautiful angel was named in honor of Veronica, whose mother wrote, "I would be overjoyed if this pin where named after my daughter. She is 23 years old. She is a very smart girl and has always been very motivated. She always got good grades in high school and was very active in school activities. From the time she was a little girl she always wanted to be an Attorney or have a career in Political Science.

In her Junior year I started to notice a change in her. She was not interested in school or her other activities. She had a boyfriend who was very controlling whose parents let them drink and smoke pot in their home. Everything started spinning out of control. She even got to a point of being suicidal.

She did go on to college but started having panic attacks and could never make it through a full semester of classes. She had to put her college plans on hold. $20,000 in student loans and three years later she still does not have a college degree.

Well after a couple years of trying to figure out what went wrong and constant praying that God what help us, I found a wonderful lady who is a therapist. She diagnosed my daughter with "Borderline Personality Disorder".  A mental disorder that if not treated it can prevent a person from having a normal healthy life. Mental disorders such as this can be hereditary. Mental disorders run in my husbands side of the family and unfortunately my daughter inherited that gene.

With therapy and the proper medication my daughter is on the road to recovery. She will have to take an antidepressant for the rest of her life but at least she can now lead a halfway normal life. She has been on her own for the past couple of years and is the manager of a pizza place and is taking college courses through the mail. She is studying to become a therapist and help teenagers with alcohol and drug addiction. She has goals and a purpose in life once again.

You see, when I saw this angel pin I knew it was my daughter because if you turn the pin upside down the dress of the angel forms a V. My daughters name is Veronica."

 This angel is over 1 1/2 inches and features butterfly cut-out wings and a flowing skirt.
