"Jason"
This little angel was designed in
memory of Jason, whose mother wrote, "About my very special Jason. .
. born November 22, 1974. Passed away August 14, 1999 just
shy of his 25th birthday. He was my golden boy; now he's my guardian
angel.
In life. . .
Personality: Jason was
tall at 6'3" & slim - gregarious - lots & lots of friends - and
lit up a room with his all-encompassing presence - gorgeous, welcoming
smile - extremely handsome, engaging guy with short, sandy hair and blue
eyes - most happy having a good time in any kind of setting and being in
the company of his friends. He had the unique quality of naturally
drawing people to him
Favorite things: Jason loved sports - huge fan of the Boston Red Sox and Patriots - always wore a baseball cap from the time he was a toddler! Was an exceptional All Star pitcher on Little League. Enjoyed frequently going to the batting cage into adulthood. Passionate fan of the Star Wars movies & memorabilia. Loved Braveheart movie with Mel Gibson. and learned every word in the scripts verbatim for both movies.
Having fun at our family beach cottage - Loved the ocean and water sports - swimming, diving, tubing & waterskiing (my brother, Steve, just named his new boat "JASON'S DREAM" in memory of Jason, almost 5 years after his passing for which I am forever grateful.)
Halloween and Christmas were Jason's favorite times of year. Loved listening to music and making tapes for his friends - had a massive collection of music at the time of his passing, which was distributed to his sister Jessica, cousin Kyle, and friends.
Enjoyed playing pool and having simultaneous card games with the guys in our basement.
Staying in shape and regularly working out at the gym was a devotion of Jason's. Had a blast at amusement parks; especially enjoyed the thrill of riding roller coasters. Jason truly lived life to its fullest.
Hobby: Doodling and drawing were mostly childhood hobbies of his. Collected baseball cards and kept scrapbooks of baseball newspaper articles.
After his death. . .
I have had many special, unique
encounters with dragonflies since his passing. I intuitively accept
them as signs that Jason's okay & his new way of connecting with me
in spirit.
Stars & Moon have whole new meaning to me when I look out at them. I can almost envision Jason sitting on the moon with his feet dangling watching over his family with great love.
And now, I look for him in beautiful rainbows, mixed with his eternal light and my tears.
With generous contributions from my dear family, I was able to purchase a cobblestone engraved with Jason's name, which was placed at the Children's Lighthouse Memorial in Edgartown on Martha's Vineyard."
The Jason angel is about 2 inches tall and features his favorite things - baseball cap, ball, bat, and glove, music note, and lighthouse. He is adorned with a dragonfly on his wing, 3 stars on the bill of his cap, and a heart engraved "Jason" with his November birthstone.
