"Kaylee
Grace"
This darling little angel was designed
in memory of Kaylee Grace whose grandmother wrote, "My granddaugher,
Kaylee Grace, passed away at 3 1/2 of a genetic illness called Metachromatic
Leukodystrophy (MLD). She was a beautiful little girl, who went from
being a happy, intelligent child to being unable to do anything at all
in a remarkably short time. She was being tube-fed at the time of
her death, because she could not even swallow. MLD robbed her of
everything. This rare disease has no cure, and there are many children
who are suffering with this everyday.
Before she started to show symptoms, she loved to play with her doll, her "baby". She carried her everywhere, fed her, changed her diaper, shared her blankie with it. She loved balloons and bubbles, and especially lilacs. She'd just bury her face in them, she so loved the smell. Before she died, I asked her to send me a rainbow to let me know that she was OK. One week after she passed away, a beautiful rainbow arched over our house, more vivid than any I'd ever seen. Since then, I see rainbows, even when you wouldn't expect them. (They aren't very common in Cleveland in December, but she sent another one then!) We watched Elmo and Shrek so many times together that I cringe when I see either one of them now. Kaylee loved life."
The Kaylee Grace angel is about 1 1/2 inches tall and features a silver heart engraved "Kaylee Grace" with her October birthstone, a doll, a little purpleflower and a rainbow that spans wing to wing.
