Gus

This angel was designed in honor of Gus by special request from her sisters.

Gus' Story

"GUS (Saundra) got her name from her 1st grandson Justin.  One day he was told they were going to see Granny.  He asked his mother if they were going to see Granny or Granny UpStairs. My sister lived in an upstairs condo at the time.  Since that day she has been called “Granny UpStairs” by all of her grandchildren which, was later abbreviated to “GUS”.  Her nieces and nephews call her “Aunt Sasha”.

Our sister is a most amazing LADY.  She was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer late 2005 at the age of 59. She has undergone 4 surgeries & 3 chemo treatments.  She has fought for almost 2 years never once complaining and never felt a bit of sorrow for herself, only thinking of everyone else.  She is the bravest person we have ever known. She has continued to keep her since of humor.  Our mother describes her as Beautiful, Meticulous and Quiet.  She can make you smile when you are having the worst of days. Her smile lights up the world.  Even now she tells us “No crying, everything will be fine. A sister’s bond will always be there and so will I.”   We can not imagine life without her, a true Angel to us all.  In fact one of her favorite things is Angels.

 Saundra has been given only a short few weeks to be with us.  We are having GUS made in honor of her 3 wonderful children, 2 step children, 7 grandchildren & loving husband who will miss her desperately.  Our sister will always live in our hearts and we will again be together one day."

"Our sister died the morning of February 21, 2008, only 10 days after the angel was designed."

The Gus angel is about 3 1/2 inches tall.  The halo holds birthstone crystals of the 2 step children and 7 grandchildren ( January, September, September, January, April, September, November, November, May).  The cross holds brithstone crystals of her 3 children ( November, September, February) and in the center of the cross, birthstones of Gus (August) and her husband (November) are affixed.  A small heart engraved "Gus" sits at the bottom of her skirt and the ovarian cancer ribbon adorns her wing.

This Saundra angel features a small heart on the skirt engraved "Saundra" and the teal ovarian cancer ribbon on her wing.  The cross is embellished with birthstones of Saundra's siblings and mother.  At the top is the April birthstone (Marilyn - Mother), Right side August (Barbara - sister), left side September (Robin - sister), bottom is February (Craig - brother) with Saundra - August & husband Mike  - November in the middle.
 

This little Saundra angel is about 1 1/2 inches tall and features the tiny teal ovarian cancer ribbon.
