Emily
Matilda
This angel was designed in memory
of Emily Matilda, whose mother wrote, "I lost my 10 1/2 year old
daughter, Emily Matilda, on March 9, 2006. My very smart, beautiful,
athletic and talented daughter was diagnosed in June of 2004 (the week
after her 9th birthday) with a rare bone marrow disease, MDS (myelodysplastic
syndrome--in addition to being quite rare it is also considered a geriatric
disease). Emily had a bone marrow transplant in February 2005 t;hat we
hoped would end the MDS......I guess it did, but the extreme chemo
used prior to the bmt caused a rare side affect so that subsequently
Emily developed bronchialitis obltiterans....a progressive lung disease.
Emily was positive and hopeful, always looking forward throughout her entire
ordeal. Emily's favorite color is purple.....she was
a g! ymnast, a soccer player, an actress, an avid reader and a writer with
an amazing sense of humor. Emily's hugs, ability to talk and talk
and talk (even after a tracheotomy because no one told her she wouldn't
be able to), and her love of life are legendary."
This angel is about 3 1/2
inches tall and is done in silver with gold sunglasses The heart is purple
and will be engraved "Emily".
