"Brian"
This angel was designed in memory of Brian, whose mother wrote, " Brian  gave us so much love and was absolutely adored by his parents and big brother Kyle. Brian was born with Down Syndrome and had many upper respiratory problems and multiple bouts of pneumonia.  At 13 1/2 months  a final bout of viral pneumonia took our sweet baby away from us. We were blessed by his gentle, joyful spirit and will be forever changed by having him in our lives.

 I picture Brian being held in the arms of an angel.   Also, Brian's two favorite toys were pinwheels and a butterfly.  In addition to the butterfly  I would really like to add a snail and a bee. I called Brian 'Mr. B' or 'Baby B(ee)' knowing that the 'B' could stand either for the first letter of his name or a bumble bee. He was such a busy little baby--as busy as a bee.

The snail is very important.... so often the term 'slow' is a label given to people as a put down. I want to celebrate slow and think it is a better way to live my life. Brian's accomplishments were celebrated so much because we watched them develop at their slower pace and were so intimately involved in the process of working with him toward those goals. It was like the miracle of watching a flowerbud slowly unfold and bloom into a full rose. I got to enjoy the process because it was slow, not fast and I feel so blessed for that gift."

The Brian angel is about 2 inches tall and is being held by his larger angel. A snail, butterfly and bee adorn the angel.
