Benjamin
Martha Hayes, a friend, writes:
Benjamin was the son of a dear
friend of mine. He was only 2 years old when a canoe accident claimed his
life. This past May he would have celebrated his 25th birthday. He was
a very beautiful, happy, smart child and often rode on his father's shoulders
while he was coaching a sporting event. His father, David, was the Head
Master/Athletic Coach of a small private school, Yates Academy. The school
mascot was the Unicorn and we often referred to Benjamin as "the littlest
Unicorn".....Benjamin loved the beach and all things connected with it,
dolphins, shells, starfish, etc. Thus, the Sand Dollar was placed on his
Angel as well. It signifies "The five white doves awaiting....", as written
in the Legend of the Sand Dollar.
Benjamin is very much remembered,
loved and missed by family and friends.
"Benjamin" will be engraved on the blue heart with May and August birthstones.
